My name is Andrea, I am the CEO and founder of Daily Regulation Systems. I have over 20 years of experience as a certified Special Education teacher, a Master’s Degree in Education and certification as a Life Coach. I'm also the parent of two neurodivergent boys.

Despite all of my training and experience, I struggled to help my own children navigate intense emotional outbursts and meltdowns. Getting them to school each morning often felt impossible. I found myself doing everything for them just so I could get to work somewhat on time.

The more I stepped in to help, the more exhausted and frustrated I became. I started questioning my parenting abilities, even though I spent my days successfully supporting children with similar needs in my classroom.

After a lot of self-blame and frustration, I decided to approach the situation the same way I would at school: with a Behavior Intervention Plan.

I knew I couldn't tackle every challenge at once and still maintain a positive relationship with my children. So I focused on the one issue that was causing daily stress and meltdowns for all of us: our morning routine.

Instead of constantly reminding, nagging, and eventually yelling, I created a simple routine with specific tasks I wanted my boys to become independent with. Then I made the difficult decision to let go of the steering wheel and trust the process.

For the first couple of weeks, I provided gentle reminders and support as they learned the routine. Slowly but surely, they began to take ownership of it.

The results were life-changing.

I was no longer angry that I had to do "everything" just to get out the door on time. My boys were no longer starting their days feeling criticized and overwhelmed. The tension in our home decreased dramatically, and the atmosphere completely shifted.

For the first time in a long time, I felt hopeful.

As I shared my experience with families at work, I realized I wasn't alone. The parents of my students were facing the same struggles I had experienced at home. They were overwhelmed, exhausted, and searching for solutions that actually worked in real life.

That's when I decided to take the behavior management strategies I had successfully used for years in my classroom and adapt them for families at home.

I created Daily Regulation Systems to bridge the gap between the behavior support strategies used in schools and the practical realities of parenting neurodivergent children.

My mission is simple: to give parents hope. Hope that the daily battles can become calmer. Hope that their children can build independence. Hope that home can feel more peaceful, connected, and joyful.

Because if things could get better for my family, they can get better for yours too.
